This year Girl Develop It is teaming up with Hack'n Jill, along with NY Tech Meetup and Control Group, to host a hackathon that gives back!
Hack'n Jill advocates for diversity in the tech community by hosting hackathons with an equal ratio of men to women. This fall, we're hosting #hacksgiving, where developers and designers will come together for social, global, and greater good. We'll address broken issues. We'll improve inefficient systems. We'll make the future. Better. Everyone can make a difference. Build to give back at Hack'n Jill's #hacksgiving November 9-10.
We're celebrating the launch of Girl Develop It Detroit!
We'll be meeting at the fabulous Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Co. in Midtown. Come and join us for:

- The chance to meet our superstar instructor Cara Jo Miller, who will be teaching GDI Detroit's very first "Introduction to HTML/CSS" class in November

GirlDevelopIt Philly is turning 1 year old and we're throwing a BIG shindig. With 20 Meetups, over 300 attendees and close to 550 members, we have a lot to celebrate. And that doesn't even include the many Women in Tech groups who have spourted and grown over that time. This occasion is meant for the whole community to come together (women, men, aliens), rejoice for our accomplishments and band to set new heights for the following year.
Join us for sponsored food, drinks and of course, cake! The party theme? NERD POWER! Embrace your inner geek and dress to the nines to win a free Girl Develop It class and a slew of other prizes listed below for the Nerdiest Outfit. Think "Ugly Betty" in terms of attire or come straight from work and grab one of the geek glasses we'll be giving out. We're also holding a fun scavenger hunt and a twist on a Trivia game. We'll have music, games, contests and lots of surprises.
We know everyone is excited to get things started with Girl Develop IT in Pittsburgh. We thought we'd start things off with an informal social, so that we can chat and get to know one another. The only thing you need to bring for this event is yourself.
