AI isn't a trend you can wait out. It's already reshaping how people write, build, pitch, and problem-solve at work, and the gap is widening between people who understand it and people who are still figuring out what it even is. We don't want our community stuck in the second group.
GDI was built on the idea that you don't need a technical background to belong in tech. That's just as true for AI. You don't need to be an engineer to understand what these tools can do, where they fall short, and how to use them responsibly. You just need someone to walk you through it without the jargon — which is exactly what the Essential AI class does, amazingly well.
Here's what past attendees have told us:
"In the beginning I felt I would fail all the tests, but your explanations and demos helped me feel more confident in picking out possible AI. Thank you and keep it up!"
"I definitely learned something new in this session. It was fun and informative at the same time, and didn't bore too many technical details. We can immediately put to use what was shared across the several mediums."
We want our community leading this conversation, not catching up to it.
That's the real reason this class exists. Not to turn you into an AI expert overnight, but to get you curious, confident, and equipped enough to start digging in on your own. This class is a start — the kind of start that turns "I don't get AI" into "I got a lot of the quiz questions wrong, and I still learned something I could use today."
Class Details
Class starts September 15th and runs six sessions: Tuesdays from 7:00–8:30 pm and Saturdays from 12:00–1:30 pm.
Cost: $325 (Early bird: $225 through August 1, 2026)
If cost is ever a barrier, email katie@girldevelopit.com, GDI never wants price to be the reason you sit this one out.
By the time you finish this course, you won't know everything about AI. Nobody does. But you'll know enough to be dangerous — enough to ask better questions, spot AI in the wild, and bring real ideas back to your team instead of just watching from the sidelines.
