Summer camp is all about meeting new people, trying new things, and discovering something new about yourself along the way. At camp, some of the best moments happen around the campfire — when everyone gathers, listens, laughs, asks questions, and shares stories.
That’s the spirit behind our Campfire Chat.
In this session, we’ll gather as a community to hear a real career story from someone working in or around tech. They’ll share how they got started, what they learned along the way, the unexpected turns their path has taken, and the skills that helped them grow.
This is not a formal lecture or a perfect success story. It’s a chance to hear an honest, human story about work, change, confidence, and possibility.
Together, we’ll listen, reflect, ask questions, and connect the story to our own career journeys. You’ll leave with fresh perspective, a practical takeaway, and maybe a new way to think about what comes next for you.
Come as you are. Bring your curiosity. Pull up a seat by the career campfire.

About the Campfire Chat
Emma began her career in criminology, earning a Master of Science from the University of Pennsylvania
Emma leveraged that background to become an innovative technical leader known for guiding complex projects with precision, agility, and care, across roles at companies including Bevi, Drizly, F9 Teams, and Warner Music Group.
In this conversation, Emma will share how she turned a background in criminology into a powerful foundation for working with engineering teams, building systems, and leading cross-functional work at major companies. We’ll talk about career pivots, transferable skills, confidence, and how to recognize the value of the experience you already have.
