About this event

Are you trying to break into the tech field? Curious about what it’s like to work in different technical positions? Join Girl Develop It and DevMynd for the “Day in the Life” speaker series to learn more about some of the important pieces of a tech team.

In our second event of the series, hear from a panel of women from different companies and at different points in their career about how they all came to be designers, what their day-to-day responsibilities are like, and what advice they have for folks looking to enter the field.

6:15 - 7:15: Panelist Perspectives

7:15 - 8:00: Moderated & Open Q&A

Our panelists

Anna Brenner - Jr Design Consultant @ DevMynd

Anna has a mixed bag of a background - after getting a degree in English literature and working in the film industry, she pursued her passion for digital design at General Assembly’s UXDI bootcamp. She has been with DevMynd ever since. When not creating digital solutions, you can find Anna quoting obscure LOTR lines, collecting houseplants, or curled up on a couch with feminist literature.

Danyelle Jones - UX Architect @ Relativity, Lecturer @ DePaul University in HCI, & Professor @ ILIS in Web Design & New Media

Danyelle is a UX Architect at Relativity, industry-leading developers of the e-discovery software Relativity. She has an extensive background in user experience design, research, and implementing agile methodologies, which help her produce wireframes and prototypes for a host of clients including United Airlines, Northern Trust, and Walgreens.
In her current role, she works closely with the product and development teams to build prototypes and conduct user testing to provide an exceptional Relativity experience.
In addition to her experience in the field of user experience, she is an instructor. She has taught web design and interactive media at the Illinois Institute of Art since 2009, and UX classes in the HCI program at DePaul university since 2016.
In her free time, she roots for Ten and Rose on the Tardis.

Bri Santacaterina - Senior Designer @ Tempus

Bri is currently a member of the design team at Tempus, a data and technology company focused on cancer research and genetics. She primarily works on product design as well as marketing and branding. While she originally attended DePaul University for advertising, she became a self-taught designer and later attended Chicago Portfolio School to expand her skills. Bri is passionate about creating meaningful, impactful work that makes a difference.

Savannah Million - Designer @ Ad Hoc

She's a multidisciplinary designer who likes making things on the internet, whether it’s websites, podcasts, apps, or art. Her favorite projects tend to be educational or public sector-focused, and she thrives on small teams at remote-first organizations. When she's not working, she's probably biking around Chicago or hanging out at home, instagramming her cat.
