In our first event of the speaker series, hear from a panel of ladies from different companies and at different points in their career about how they came to be a designer, what their day-to-day responsibilities are like, and what advice they have for folks looking to enter the field.

Andrea Pereira de Almeida: Andrea is a User Experience Designer at Fooda. She recently graduated from Elon University with a Master’s in Interactive Media. Prior to Elon, Andrea was a Freelance web and graphic designer. What she loves most about being a UX designer is that it allows her to use her creativity to solve problems on a daily basis.
<i style="font-size : 16px">Stephanie Finken: Stephanie is a UI/UX designer at VISANOW and is passionate about helping people bridge the gap between design and technology in their lives and careers. She enjoys learning new things, helping people learn to code, and finding creative solutions to problems.
Alejandra Luaces: Alejandra Luaces has been a lot of things–sous chef, illustrator, zookeeper, legal assistant, urban farmer. Her design career started at 16, moonlighting as a photo retoucher for her friends in high school. Now, she's crafting fun and intuitive interfaces with the amazing Table XI.
Becky Rother: Becky Rother is a senior visual designer at Vokal Interactive in River North. She specializes in web and iOS design, but previous work experience ranges from illustrations to print design and everything in between. She is also a freelance photographer in her spare time.
