About this event

Recruiters notoriously spend an average of six seconds reviewing a resume. Technical recruiters also do not typically have technical training but rely on keywords and a very general understanding of software development to decide which candidates to move forward.

Sharing her perspective as a technical recruiter, Chelsea Cohen will discuss best-practices when it comes to creating a technical resume that will appeal to recruiters along with ways to make yourself more "findable" online.

We will go over resume content (including objectives/summaries and keywords) and format as well as social media/branding ideas to help you stand out as a rockstar developer to the non-technical "technical" recruiter.

About the teacher

As the Founder of Synaptic Talent, LLC, Chelsea Cohen helps leading technology and finance firms enhance their technical workforce. She learned the tools of her trade first hiring quants for a New York City hedge fund and then recruiting software engineers for Google. She received her master's degree in Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and loves combining her education and recruiting backgrounds whenever possible to help more women enter and flourish in tech and finance. Find out more about her business at SynapticTalent.com, follow her on Twitter @synaptictalent, or connect with her on LinkedIn.
