Want to learn how to build your own website? Already have your own WordPress/Tumblr/etc. site, but want to have more control over it? Interested in learning to program, but want to start small? This class is for you!
We will guide you through the basics of HTML and CSS, give you some readily-applicable skills, and answer any questions you may have along the way.

NOTE: We are offering scholarships on a limited basis for students with financial need. Applications must be received by February 1. Scholarship recipients will be notified by February 8.
MINIMUM ENROLLMENT: If fewer than 12 students register for this workshop, GDI Detroit may postpone or cancel it. In that event a refund or class credit will be available to any students who have paid to attend.

Please bring your laptop and charger to all class sessions. Power strips & Wi-Fi will be provided.

Where we are located:
Our office is located at 160 W Fort St Suite 600 Detroit, MI 48226 in the Federal ReserveBuilding in Downtown Detroit. The cross street is Shelby Street. Our address appears twice in Detroit, so please be sure to enter the correct zip code when using GPS.
Getting to our office:
Upon arrival to our building, please sign in at the Security desk in the ground floor lobby. Security will either badge you up to the 6th floor or loan you a visitor pass for the day, depending on the length of your visit. If you receive a visitor pass, please remember to return it when you leave at the end of the day. Once on the 6th floor, please ring our white doorbell next to our main entrance to be let in. Once inside, you will sign-in on the iPad to let your host know that you’ve arrived.
Where to park:
There are numerous surface lots and parking garages downtown.
Hourly rates differ, but most daily parking is $25, payable by card only.
Metered street parking is also available for $1/hr, payable by coin, card, or the ParkDetroit mobile app.
The maximum time limit on street parking is 2hours, after which you will need to refill the meter.
Suggested parking garages:
- Opera House Parking Center ($10/day, 10 min walk)
- Financial District Garage ($25/day, attached to office at garage level 2)
- The Z Park Garage ($25/day, 8 min walk)
Please allow yourself an extra 15 - 20 minutes before your meeting start time to find parking and get to our office.
