Learn PHP and MySQL! The most popular database languages used today, they are integral to popular web content management systems, including Drupal and WordPress. During the course, students will learn how to create a MySQL database, develop PHP code to interact with their database, integrate multiple content types including images, and integrate all of this into a webpage!
If you've got a working knowledge of HTML and CSS and have been looking to jump into the world of PHP & MySQL, this class is for you!

CURRICULUM DETAILS:
Introduction to Server Side Languages and PHP
What is a server-side language? How is it different than client-side languages? What is PHP? Why is it so popular? What can it do? Learn the basic structure and syntax of PHP and manipulate variables. Begin using if-else and while loops.
Introduction to MySQL
What is a MySQL database? Why are relational databases important? Who uses them? Why should I? Build a basic database in MySQL and add to it using PHP and HTML forms.
Database Manipulation
Add, edit and delete content in your database. Learn how to manipulate different content types, including text, numbers, dates, and multimedia. Relate data across your database. Develop search functions.
Advanced PHP
Create password protected information. Use PHP to dynamically customize the HTML or CSS in your webpages. Learn popular advanced PHP functions used in the real world.
INSTRUCTOR:
Adam Stogdill is a person who was practically born to create things! He has been creating websites and services for over 18 years. With backgrounds in both development and design, he lends creativity and passion to whatever is before him. When he isn't coding up a storm as lead devolper at Core3 Solutions, he's out spreading a helping hand however he can though teaching, speaking, and just random high fives.

There are several flat-fee private parking lots available across from the office on Randolph St. Metered street parking is available on Randolph and adjacent streets. Additional parking is available one block away at the Detroit Opera House parking structure.
