About this event

With 20% of the web running on WordPress, it's no surprise that we're WordPress fans!

Join Girl Develop It for an introductory look into all things WordPress. We will walk through creating a WordPress.com blog and customizing it to fit your needs. We will publish posts and learn about the types of content we can publish. We'll also talk about the differences between WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress sites, and help you understand which approach is best for you.  Most importantly, our instructor and TA's will be here to answer any questions you may have along the way.

Note: You do not need to have an existing WordPress site in order to attend.

LOCATION:

Detroit Public Library (Main Branch) - TLC Lab

INSTRUCTOR:

This course will be taught by Leeann Drees.

PARKING:

Metered street parking on Cass, Woodward, Putnam and Kirby Avenues. Free parking in the library staff lot on the south side of the Main Library, all day on Saturdays. Lot is accessible from Putnam Avenue via Cass Avenue. Customers must then use either the Cass or the Woodward entrance.

WHAT TO BRING:

We will be using the library's computer lab, so no need to bring a laptop. Pen & paper for taking notes are recommended.
