GDI is partnering with Stack Exchange to offer members the opportunity to code together in a relaxed environment and to participate in a code review session with a Senior Engineer from Stack Exchange. (This is the first of two sessions. The second will take place on January 29th.)
Whether you're just getting started with code, or have been at it for awhile, this will be a comfy space to work on a project alongside other women and maybe make a few friends.
You also have the opportunity to sign up for a 30 minute code review with a member of the Stack Exchange dev team. Code reviews are one of the most common aspects of working on software teams and they help you clarify how you think about your code. This is a great chance to get used to this practice in a supportive environment.
• Participation is limited so each attendee can have ample time for mentorship
• Code review sessions with Senior Engineers will be 30 minutes each
• If you're requesting a code review, the following information is needed to complete your registration:
-- > the GitHub repo of the codebase you'd like to review
--> how long you've been programming
Your mentor and time slot will be communicated upon arrival.
A $10 donation toward the Girl Develop It scholarship fund is requested to confirm your attendance.
