Want to learn design fundamentals for web development? Join us for Introduction to Design for the Web with a focus on Photoshop, a new GDI workshop in January!
Photoshop and the Adobe Creative Suite offer powerful tools for web developers. This introductory class will teach you how to navigate the workspace and customize it to your workflow. You will learn about color spaces and how to work within a color space that is friendly to most computers and devices. Students will learn how to save images and graphics for the web - there is not one way, and one way is not the best. Students will create a web page mockup in Photoshop using layers and layer comps.
This is a three hour class with a 15 minute break. Topics will be divided up into 8 sections with opportunities for students to practice skills on their own.
By the end of class, students will be able to create graphics in Photoshop and save them for the web, they will be able to create a mockup web page with layers that can be output as separate files. Students will be able to navigate the Photoshop workspace and, most importantly, have the confidence to continue learning all of the options this powerful tool has to offer.
With a free Creative Cloud membership, you can download a 30-day trial version of Photoshop - https://creative.adobe.com/plans- just make sure you've downloaded (and preferably opened) Photoshop prior to the class so you're certain it's fully installed and working on your computer!
