About this event

You are comfortable with HTML and CSS, and you've heard all the hype about HTML5. Ready to take it to the next level and find out what all the fuss is about? Then join us for this course on HTML5 and CSS3! This course is taught by Alexis Goldstein, a co-author of the book "HTML5 and CSS3 for the Real World."

We will cover a wide range of the many technologies that make up HTML5, including Video, Offline Web Applications, Geolocation, and CSS3 effects like gradients, text shadows, rounded corners and animations. The course will be a mix of lecture, samples and hands-on labs to get you up and running.

Pre-requisite: The Intro to HTML/CSS class, or a working knowledge of HTML/CSS.  Knowledge of JavaScript is also suggested, though not explicitly required.

This course will run for four Monday evenings, from 7-9pm:

Monday, June 13th: The new HTML5 elements and attributes
Monday, June 20th: All about CSS3
Monday, June 27th: Geolocation, Web Storage, and Making your website available offline
We'll skip the week of July 4th Monday, July 11th: Dynamic effects and drawing with code! (Drag and drop and Canvas)
