This class is a 4-night series running on Tues Sept. 19, Thurs Sept 21, Tues Sept 26 and Thurs Sept 28 from 7pm-9pm
Through the course of this four-part class, you'll get a thorough introduction to HTML5 and CSS3 to build on your previous knowledge. You'll get hands-on experience working with HTML5 features like semantic elements and forms, and you'll learn new CSS3 properties and abilities including transformations and transitions. Finally, we'll dig into responsive design and browser compatibility.
You'll leave with readily-applicable skills and we'll be there to answer any questions you may have along the way!

To get the most out of this class, you should have a working knowledge of basic HTML and CSS. You may have taken Intro to HTML through Girl Develop It, or maybe you have built a site for fun. There are many resources to learn HTML online, including this free course from Code Academy.
Your laptop and charger. Note: A netbook or tablet is NOT a substitute.
A modern browser: either Chrome with the "Web Developer" extension or Firefox with Firebug installed.
A text editor. We recommend Sublime Text 2 (free; available for both Mac and PC).

About the Instructor:
Shea Molloy has worked in difference aspects of product and digital design for 7 years, beginning as identity and concept designer at various college start-ups. After several years of freelancing, she settled into a small creative agency located in Tribeca called rayogram where she works mostly in usability and user experience. In addition to teaching with GDI, Shea enjoys going to hackathons, running and dancing.
