About this event

PHP was one of the first and still the most popular language on the web that allows people to build dynamic websites without having to compile code. As a server side language, PHP can retrieve data from any database, manipulate it and display it on the web for users to interact with. PHP is used by millions of websites including Facebook, Etsy and the most popular CMS applications Wordpress and Drupal.

This course is an introduction to PHP and how it interacts with web servers. For this course, students will become introduced to PHP, server-side concepts, and MySQL.

About the teacher

Leo Newball, Jr has had a fascination with technology since he was 11 years old. Since that early age, he immersed himself in the world of technology, often referred to as the stereotypical computer geek in neighborhood and school. Interests became action when, throughout middle school and high school, he taught computer literacy to individuals of all ages, and performed computer consultancy to individuals on a one-to-one basis. His interests always lay with emerging and evolving technology, thus as the Internet became an evolving force, his attention was drawn in its direction.
