About this event

Nowadays, we are using JavaScript more and more on our webpages, and that means that we can end up with hundreds or even thousands of lines of JS. If you're not careful, your code can quickly become an unnavigable maze of spaghetti code. Most web developers are now using Object-oriented concepts and MVC frameworks to help them modularize their code and better separate the presentation from the data.

In this evening workshop, we'll give an overview of OO and MVC, and spend most of our time actually getting our hands dirty using those concepts. This workshop will be taught by Pamela Fox, a product engineer at Coursera.

As a prerequisite, you should be fairly familiar with JS, like by having attended our JS workshop and advanced JS workshops in jQuery and AJAX. Bring a laptop, a charger, and a smile.

Thanks to Change.org for the great space. We will share the exact address with attendees before the event.

If you'd like to attend but cannot afford the cost, please request a GDI scholarship.

Please note that we cannot issue refunds, since there's an overhead to issuing refunds via Meetup.com and we already offer the workshops at such a low-cost. We put proceeds into the chapter fund, which we use as our scholarship fund.
