This workshop will cover new features from ECMAScript 6 (ES6).
ECMAScript is a standard for a scripting language – Javascript language is based on the ECMAScript standard.
ES6 basically lets you write more up-to-date JavaScript that is succinct, intuitive, and easy-to-read:
ES6 is the latest significant update to the ECMAScript version and is currently being implemented in browsers at varying speeds.
This workshop will be taught by Esther Weon, a software engineer at Presence Product Group.
Agenda
We will be covering several main features introduced in ES6. For each feature we cover, we will:
1) Go over a lecture on feature
2) Do a solo practice exercise
3) Review solution to exercise
Prerequisites
• Familiarity with basic JavaScript
• Laptop with Git installed
• Github account
