About this event

After you've made a website, your work isn't done: you need to track how your users are using it, and use that data to figure out how to improve your site. One of the most popular website tracking techniques is Google Analytics, so we're partnering with Google to provide a workshop all about it.

This workshop will cover the basics of how Google Analytics website tracking works, some of the most popular customizations and an introduction to doing analysis in the Google Analytics web interface. Some of these customizations include: virtual pageviews, event tracking, custom variables, campaign tagging, etc.

The workshop will be taught by guest teacher Andy Granowitz, an analyst from the Google Analytics team.

We recommend some familiarity with JavaScript before this event, but you should be able to get by without it as well. Please bring your laptop so that you can participate in the hands-on exercises.

Thank you to Google SF for hosting, teaching, and providing food for the event.

If you'd like to attend but cannot afford the cost, please request a GDI scholarship.
