About this event

Nowadays, we are using JavaScript more and more on our webpages, and that means that we can end up with hundreds or even thousands of lines of JS. If you're not careful, your code can quickly become an unnavigable maze of spaghetti code. Most web developers are now using Object-oriented concepts with an MVC architecture to help modularize their code, make it more re-usable, and better separate the presentation from the data.

This half-day workshop will alternate between presentations of the underlying OO and MVC concepts and hands-on exercises.

Per our prerequisites guide, you should be fairly familiar with JavaScript, and using JavaScript with the DOM (via the DOM API and the jQuery library).

Please bring a laptop and charger.

If you're interested in being a teaching assistant, please let us know.

Thanks to TradeCraft for venue and lunch.

If you'd like to attend but cannot afford the cost, please request a GDI scholarship.
