About this event

In this 1-day workshop, we will introduce jQuery, the most popular JavaScript library for making webpages interactive. We'll show how to use jQuery for basic webpage manipulation, and then for event handling and animation. Just like with our one-day workshops, we'll have hands-on exercises throughout the night.

This workshop will be a combination of live lectures and exercise time, with TAs to help you through the exercises. If you're interested in being a TA, please let us know.

Prerequisites:

This workshop assumes that you have already learnt JavaScript fundamentals, HTML/CSS, and the DOM API (from our previous workshops or online). You don't need to be an expert in them, but you'll want some familiarity with them. If you're not sure if you have the prerequisite knowledge, please send a message.

Supplies:

Please bring a laptop and charger. If you do not have a laptop, please send me a message.

Bicycles:

There is bike parking in the basement. Please do not bring bicycles up to the 8th floor.

Thank you to Hack Reactor for the great location!

If you'd like to attend but cannot afford the cost, please request a GDI scholarship.
