About this event

Due to popular demand, this workshop is now in lecture format and will no longer be a self-paced workshop!

In this two-day bootcamp, you'll learn HTML and CSS, the languages used by the billions of webpages out there today to mark up and style content. HTML and CSS are incredibly useful skills for bloggers, content creators, email marketers, small business owners, designers, and are absolutely necessary skills frontend web developers.

The workshop will be a mix of lectures and hands-on exercises in pairs, and will be taught by Eli Feasley, a data scientist at Khan Academy. This is a recommended workshop for students interested in our full frontend workshop series.

Prerequisites: Attendees are not expected to have any previous HTML/CSS or programming experience.

Tech requirements: Your laptop (Mac, PC, or Linux are all okay. If you don't have one of those, please let us know in advance) and charger.A modern web browser - either Chrome or Firefox.A text editor. We recommend Sublime Text 2 (free; available for both Mac and PC) or Notepad++ (PC).

Topics covered: HTML tags, HTML links, lists, media, tables, CSS selectors, CSS text properties, CSS, and page layout

We will go from 10:00am to 5:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday. There will be a 1-hour break from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Lunch will be provided.
