Unconscious bias in Machine Learning

Oct 1, 2020, 7:00 – 8:00 PM

Join us for an important discuss about Unconscious bias in Machine Learning and what is and can be done about it.

About this event

Machine learning is the next technological revolution. Every aspect of our modern lives is already touched by it in some way, and there's no sign of it slowing down. So why is it that only a small minority of developers have any training in ethics or to recognize AI bias?

Creators of AI technologies are learning the hard way that these technologies can amplify the racial and gender prejudices in society. As machine learning makes more and more decisions about our lives, it's critical for everyone to be aware of these limitations and to work actively to challenge them. Jessica will be discussing where these biases come from, what we're doing to combat them, and how we can do better in the future.
