Join us for an exciting and immersive hands-on Python project class, perfect for beginners and those looking to solidify their foundational coding skills! This 'code-along' style series will take place over four consecutive Saturdays, Oct. 12 - Nov. 2, from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM ET, providing a supportive and interactive environment to learn and practice Python.

About

We offer both introductory level and advanced data science pathways.

The goal of our intro pathway is to provide an overview of the languages, tools and ability to work with, interpret and present data results.

  • Ability to speak to databases: We offer basic and advanced SQL courses will teach you to write queries that a data analyst writes on a daily basis using real world data
  • Ability to interpret your data analysis results: Statistics course covers descriptive statistics and common probability distributions used to interpret data
  • Ability to present your results: Tableau cohort will teach you how to visualize data: an important piece of communicating results of an analysis

Our advanced pathway focused on the following:

  • Ability to speak to databases using SQL: Basic and advanced SQL courses will teach you to write queries that a data analyst writes on a daily basis using real world data
  • Ability to interpret your data analysis results: Statistics course covers descriptive statistics and common probability distributions used to interpret data
  • Ability to speak to databases using Python: Acquiring Python skills will give you a competitive edge when applying for data analyst positions. You’ll learn how to perform Exploratory Data Analysis using pandas in addition to acquiring basic programming skills.
  • Ability to present your results: Using popular Python libraries such as matplotlib and seaborn, you’ll learn how to create a story around your analysis results.

Current Classes:

Intro to SQL: This class will focus on understanding how to use SQL and its basic syntax. Topics in this course will include: querying and aggregating data in individual tables, querying multiple related tables (JOINs), and writing subqueries. In this course, an online SQL database tool will be used to teach students how to write queries.

SQL 2: This 'sequel' to Intro to SQL cohort will provide students with the opportunity to learn and write the set of queries that an entry/intermediate level data analyst writes on a daily basis.

Topics in this course will include advanced joins and subqueries, window functions, and common table expressions (CTEs). In this course, an online SQL database tool will be used to teach students how to write queries.
