React.js is one of the most popular frontend frameworks. Companies like Facebook and AirBnB are using it to power blazingly fast web applications. Are you ready to learn the basics to take the next step in your frontend skills? This cohort series is the perfect first step!

About this event

React is one of the most popular JavaScript frameworks. Companies such as Facebook, Netflix, AirBnB, and Eventbrite are using it to power web applications that make interacting with users faster than ever before. This introductory series will introduce you to the basic concepts you need to understand to work with React.

You'll learn why React is so powerful as a framework; work through exercises to learn the basics; write code that takes advantage of the new ES6 language features, and build an Instagram-like application project from scratch! By the end, you will understand what single-page applications (SPAs) are; the fundamentals of creating single-page apps with a frontend framework; and how such applications differ from traditional web apps.

  • Class 1, Monday, June 6th 3:00p - 5:00p ET/12:00p - 2:00p PST
  • Class 2: Thursday, June 9th, 3:00p - 5:00p ET/12:00p - 2:00p PST
  • Class 3: Monday, June 13th 3:00p - 5:00p ET/12:00p - 2:00p PST
  • Class 4: Thursday, June 16th, 3:00p - 5:00p ET/12:00p - 2:00p PST
  • Class 5: Monday, June 20th, 3:00p - 5:00p ET/12:00p - 2:00p PST
  • Class 6: Thursday, June 23rd, 3:00p - 5:00p ET/12:00p - 2:00p PST


Prerequisites:

  • Basic familiarity with HTML & CSS
  • Basic familiarity with JavaScript, especially ES6 features
  • Basic knowledge of Github (Specifically, how to clone a repository)


Technical Requirements


Class Cost: $240 for 12 hours of instruction
