Join us for four interactive UX classes where you'll explore the initial steps of the design process and create low-fi visuals. This is great for beginners and gives you the tools and the practice so you're comfortable with everything from the brainstorming process to understanding and implementing wireframes.

Class #1: UNDERSTAND AND DISCOVER

Dive deep into the heart of design as we explore problem-solving, hypothesis formulation, and solution statements. 

  • Uncover the secrets of effective research, competitor analysis, and audience definition. 
  • Develop a keen sense of empathy through mapping pain points and crafting user personas. 
  • Get ready for an exciting exercise where you'll conceive a restaurant and create a captivating user persona.
  • Be sure to have a pen or pencil and paper available for the class.
Class 2: STRATEGIZE

Craft a solid foundation for your designs by defining information architecture and understanding its pivotal role. 

  • Clarify user and client needs, outlining scope with content and functionality requirements. 
  • Transform your ideas into tangible structures through our exhilarating exercise of structuring requirements into a sitemap using both traditional and digital tools.
  • Be sure to have a pen or pencil and paper available for the class.

Class 3: INTERFACE ELEMENTS AND SKETCHING

Delve into the world of interface elements, design patterns, and navigational systems.
  • Learn the art of composing interactions by choosing the right elements.
  • Unleash your creativity through hands-on exercises that involve brainstorming and sketching low-fi interfaces using the simplicity of pen and paper.
  • Be sure to have a pen or pencil and paper available for the class.

Class 4: WIREFRAMES 
NEW DATE: Saturday, March 16

Demystify the concept of wireframes and their significance in the design process.
  • Explore characteristics that make a wireframe effective and responsive.
  • Familiarize yourself with popular wireframing tools such as Balsamiq, Whimsical, Mockflow, Figma, and Illustrator.
  • Cap off your journey by creating a low-fi wireframe, incorporating elements learned throughout the course, using your preferred wireframing tool.
  • You will need a Balsamiq.cloud account for this class; it is recommended you visit Balsamiq.cloud before the course and set one up (it only takes a minute!)
