Overview

JavaScript is among the most popular programming languages today and powers the majority of the web. Looking to get started as a developer? JavaScript is a great first language to learn and can prepare you for other languages. Interested in building dynamic websites? Learning JavaScript is a must to turn static pages into engaging browsing experiences.

In this beginner-friendly, six-class series, you will learn programming fundamentals and foundational JavaScript topics:

  • Variables, basic data types (Strings, Numbers, Booleans, Arrays), and operators
  • Understanding control flow—creating conditionals (if/else statements)
  • Creating basic loops
  • Writing functions
  • Working with built-in JavaScript string and array methods

Prerequisites:

No prior programming experience is required. Basic knowledge of HTML & CSS is recommended, but not required. We do have an Intro to HTML & CSS course you can take. If you have prior programming experience, you’re welcome to enroll, but this series may be too introductory for you.
