About this event

JavaScript is the programming language that makes web pages interactive and is now used these days to make servers, robots, and more. That makes it one of the most useful first languages to learn if you're just getting started with programming, and particularly web development. In this workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of programming in JavaScript.

Prerequisites:

Attendees are not expected to have any previous programming experience. If you already have experience with another language besides JavaScript, you are welcome to come, but you may find the workshop goes at too slow a pace.

Technical requirements:

  • Your laptop
  • A modern web browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended)
  • An online code editor account*

All options listed offer free sign-ups/account plans

*Optional: A code or text editor (Visual Studio Code, Atom, Brackets, Sublime Text.
