What do mentors do?
Mentors encourage, rally, and support our wonderful teams to create fun and unique software project.
You can either be a dedicated team mentor, assigned to a team for the entire hackathon, or you can be a floating mentor.
Dedicated Team Mentors commit to working with a single team from start to finish. You support your team and cheer them on throughout the whole hackathon process including:
The expectation is that you will be available in your dedicated team room at times that you agree on with the team members.
Floating Mentors commit to 3 hour shifts to host our Help Desk breakout rooms and field questions in Slack such as:
Be available with notifications on for Slack during your assigned time.
Propose a newbie-friendly hackathon talk that can help teams succeed in building their projects, or volunteer to present at one of our pre-hackathon events!
